Mid Sweden University

A nicer way to university.

The university naturally attracts a lot of people, yet the surrounding area close to the river is completely ignored. This could instead become a natural and relaxing commuting route for both pedestrians and cyclists. The unused area close to the university will house allotments for students interested in growing their own vegetables.

Industrial Area

Encourage urban

activities.

Alongside the river between the university and city centre is a large industrial building. To make this area of the river more appealing, some parts of the building could be integrated into the public space. The flat roof enables a rooftop garden with beautiful views and possibilities for skiing during the winter months.

Kulturmagasinet (Cultural Centre)

Social interaction instead of parking.

Two of the city's main parking spaces are located in the very core of Sundsvall, right next to the river. These areas will be given back to the people and transformed into attractive public spaces for new and exciting social and cultural interactions. The area will include extensions to the cultural centre with possibilities for new cafés and restaurants.
